Gregory John Dorsha, 84, died of natural causes at a Havre care center on Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2004.
Cremation is planned per his wishes. A private family service will be held.
Greg was born on Sept. 28, 1919, at Buena Vista, Wis., to John and Ida (Newby) Dorsha. He grew up in Wisconsin and received his education there. He graduated from Stevens Point High School in 1938. He continued his education at Central State Tech College in Stevens Point, where he earned a bachelor of science degree.
Gregory was inducted in to the U.S. Army in January of 1942. He attained the rank of corporal and served during World War II in the Asiatic-Pacific campaign as a medical technician. He received his honorable discharge in October of 1945.
Greg married Jean V. Swenson on July 17, 1942, at Minneapolis. They were living in Havre and had been married 55 years when Jean died in 1997. Greg spent most of his working life as a salesman. He had been a resident of Northern Montana Care Center for the last three years.
Greg was preceded by his wife, Jean; parents; daughter, Nancy Dorsha Archibald; brother, Kenneth Dorsha; and sister, Alice Krembs.
Survivors include his son, Gregory (Jane) Dorsha of Williston, N.D.; daughters, Karen Dorsha (Lowell) Swenson and Sara Gray (Art) Harada of Havre; son-in-law, Bob Archibald of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and five grandchildren, Geoff and Carly Swenson, Chris and Kevin Harada, and Doug Archibald.
Memorials may be made to a donor's choice.
Arrangements are by Rockman Funeral Chapel, Chester.
