CHESTER - Anna (Schwab) Nordstrom, 94, died Saturday, Dec. 27, 2003, at a Chester hospital of natural causes.
A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Chester. Burial will follow at Chester Cemetery.
Anna was born on Feb. 20, 1909, in Wisconsin. Her family homesteaded in 1910 near Chester. She was educated at Chester and graduated from Chester High School in 1927 as class valedictorian. She taught school in the Chester community for several years.
Anna married Bert Nordstrom on Oct. 27, 1938. They purchased the local Phillips 66 station, Roosevelt Service, in Chester in 1945. Anna did the business bookkeeping for 35 years. After their retirement in 1968, their son continued to operate the business.
Anna remained active in the Chester community following Bert's death in 1979. She lived in her own home until May of 2002, when failing health required her to move into the Liberty County Nursing Home.
Anna was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Leo and John Schwab.
Survivors include her son, Bob (Barb) Nordstrom of Chester; granddaughters, Tracey Nordstrom-Hansen of Rudyard, Jami Chisholm of Helena and Kristy Bailey of Bozeman; and three great-grandchildren.
Arrangements are by Rockman Funeral Chapel, Chester.
