DONALD ANDERSON obituary

Donald B. Anderson, 79, of Havre died Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2003, at Havre.

A funeral Mass was held Saturday at the St. Francis Xavier Catholic in Circle with the Rev. Leo McDowell officiating. A vigil ser-

vice will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church.

Don was born on Nov. 19, 1924, at Scranton, N.D., and was raised on the family farm at Haley, N.D. He graduated from Buffalo High School in Buffalo, S.D., in 1943 and entered the Navy in 1945. He served in Whiting Field, Pensacola, Fla., and Hawaii before being honorably discharged in 1948. He then served in the naval reserve until 1956.

Don married Ramona Giannonatti on Dec. 17, 1953, in Buffalo, S.D. and lived there until they moved to Glendive in 1955. In 1957 they moved to Circle, and he went to work for McCone Electric Coop in September of 1958. He worked there until he retired in November of 1987. Don and Ramona moved to Havre in 1996 to be closer to their children and grandchildren. He resided in Havre until his death.

Don was a lifetime member of VFW Post 4813 in Circle, an Elks member, and a member of the MSU-Northern Booster Club in Havre and the Havre High Blue Pony Booster Club.

Survivors include his wife of almost 50 years, Ramona; daughters, Dawn (Larry) Quick, and Sharon (Mark) Hedstrom of Havre; son, Arlin, of Billings; brothers, Kenneth Anderson of Billings and Edward Anderson of Fallon; sisters, Renee Lehman of Lignite, N.D., and Etta Maher of Glendive; grandchildren, Chad, David and Kristy Quick and Trish (Scott) Tallini, Priscilla and Jena Curtiss, and Chance Anderson, Jared and Josh Weigel; step-grandchildren, Jeff and Amanda Hedstrom; and one great-granddaughter.
