Edna A. Thompson, 87, died Saturday, Nov. 29, 2003, at a Havre care center.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Highland Cemetery and a memorial service is to begin at 10:30 a.m. at the Northern Montana Care Center Chapel with Ila McClenahan officiating.
Edna was born on Jan. 7, 1916, south of Havre in the Bear Paw Mountains. She spent her early years on the family ranch in the Bear Paw Mountains on the Little Box Elder Creek. She moved to Havre with her parents in the late 1950s.
At the time of her mother's death in 1997, Edna moved to the Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd, which became Northern Montana Care Center.
In her early years, Edna enjoyed picking berries and learned to embroider and to bake from her mother. Her cherry pies and breads, especially fry bread, were favorites of her nieces and nephews. Edna always loved holding and rocking babies and assembling jigsaw puzzles.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Rosa Thompson, and her brothers, John and Tom Thompson.
Survivors include her brother, William Thompson of Williston, N.D.; sisters, Catherine Bradbury of Havre and Elizabeth Brown, south of Chinook; many nieces and nephews; and the staff and residents of the Northern Montana Care Center and Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd who were her extended family and enriched her life in many ways.
Memorials may be made to the Northern Montana Care Center.
Arrangements are under the direction of Holland and Bonine Funeral Home.
