RICHARD ROGGE obituary

JORDAN - Richard Clarence Rogge, 52, died of natural causes at his home in Jordan on Thursday, Oct. 23, 2003.

Visitation was scheduled from 1 to 7 p.m. today at the Chapel of Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Jordan. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday

at the VFW Hall in Jordan. Interment will follow in the Wolff Cemetery in Sand Springs.

He was born on Jan. 9, 1951, in Jordan to Clarence W. and Stella (Barker) Rogge. He grew up on the family ranch near Sand Springs where he also attended school. He graduated from high school in Jordan in 1968 and attended Northern Montana College in Havre, where he received an associate's degree in electronic technology in 1972. He began his interest in love of music at a young age. In 1956, he and his sister Lois sang on television in Great Falls.

While attending college, Richard swamped at the original Elks Club in downtown Havre then played music at the Elks Country Club in a band called the Electric Cowboys. He worked for Brown's Hardware and Northern Electronics, until becoming an apprentice electrician with Williams Bros. Construction. After working for other electrical contractors, he began his own shop, R & S Electric, in 1980.

In June of 1977, he married Susan Howard. They were very active in church worship and organized numerous gospel bands as well as singing specials at church and other events over the years. Richard took his family on a mission trip to Belize and Mexico City in 1986. He continued his electrical business in Garfield County, where he moved the family in March of 1995 to help his dad on the family ranch where he resided until his death. He and Susan had five children together before divorcing in 2003.

Richard loved family, music, cookouts, camping, and took his walks religiously. He continued to enjoy music with his family and The Jordanaiers. One of his favorite places to play was at the rest home. He appreciated God and nature and always decorating the kitchen with wild flowers.

Survivors include his parents of Sand Springs; daughter, Elisa (Gerard) Murnion of Laurel; sons, Kevin Rogge of Schweinfort, Germany, and Brian Rogge of Laurel; daughters Rachel Rogge and Coryn Rogge, both of Laurel; sister, Lois (Darrell) Johnson of Dillon; niece, Sheryl (Brad) Wutzke of Billings; and granddaughter, Elizabeth (Libby) Murnion of Laurel.
