ROCKY BOY - Marvin James Gardipee, 29, of Wolf Point, formerly of Rocky Boy, died Sunday, Oct. 26, 2003, at his home from a single gunshot wound.
Services will be this week at Rocky Boy.
Marvin was born on Dec. 1, 1973, in Havre to Henry Sutherland Sr. and Anna Gardipee.
He grew up and attended schools in Rocky Boy and in Wolf Point during the 1985-86 school year. He moved to the Wolf Point area in 1998.
Marvin was a full-time student.
He enjoyed singing, playing basketball and working with his father-in-law on the farm. He held to the traditional native beliefs. He was a member of the college Indian club.
Marvin was preceded in death by his grandparents and his sister, Mariah Rose Smith.
Marvin is survived by his parents, Henry Sutherland Sr. and Anna Gardipee; wife, Carla J. Payne of Wolf Point; sons, Gordon Thomas Gardipee and Isaiah Thomas Gardipee, both of Wolf Point; daughters, Quannah Lyne Gardipee and Brianna Ruth Gardipee, both of Wolf Point; half-brothers, Henry Sutherland Jr. and Dennis Sutherland, both of Rocky Boy; and half-sisters, Lillian Sutherland of Washington and Melissa Sutherland of Rocky Boy.
