RONALD OHLERKING obituary

FORT BELKNAP AGENCY - Ronald Thomas Ohlerking, 78, died Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2003, at the Montana Veteran's Home in Columbia Falls of natural causes.

A funeral Mass was scheduled for 11 a.m. today in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church with burial following in Harlem Cemetery with military honors by Fort Belknap American Legion. Rosary was Sunday evening in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel.

Arrangements are by Edwards Funeral Home of Chinook.

Ronald was born at home in Lodge Pole on April 9, 1925, to Frank and Annie (Flack) Ohlerking.

He attended elementary school at Big Warm and high school

at Haskell Institute in Lawrence, Kan., graduating in May 1943.

Ronald was a World War II veter-

an, serving in the U.S. Navy from Sept. 4, 1943 with an honorable discharged on June 24, 1946.

He moved to Los Angeles and married Mary Lou Archuletta. To this marriage three children were born, Wallace, Charlie, and Yogi.

They later divorced and he moved back to Montana where he was a firefighter and worked for the Yellowtail Dam.

Due to ill health, Ronald moved to the Montana Veteran's Home in Columbia Falls in 1984 and resided there until his death.

Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Annie Ohlerking; son, Wallace Ohlerking; brother, Norman Ohlerking; sister, Vina Kuntz; and infant twin brother and sister.

Survivors include his son, Charlie Ohlerking of Seattle, Wash.; daughter, Yogi Yuge of Los Angeles, Calif.; niece, Irene Crasco of Dodson; one grandson; and three great-grandchildren.
