BILLINGS - Catherine Grace Armstrong, 73, of Billings, died peacefully on Saturday, July 12, 2003, at her home due to natural causes.
A funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary. Additional funeral services 10 a.m. Friday at the First Lutheran Church in
Havre with interment at Highland Cemetery. A luncheon will be held at First Lutheran Church immediately following graveside services.
Grace was born on Jan. 15, 1930, to Joseph and Ellen Schend in Havre. She was raised in south Havre.
Grace married David F. Armstrong on June 3, 1950, and they began building their home in Havre.
Grace left Havre with her family and moved to various places across the Northwestern states and settled in Billings in 1977.
She loved spending time with her close friends and family. She traveled extensively with her husband on Lions activities to Hong Kong, China, Australia, Hawaii, Alaska, Canada and many U.S. cities. Grace was a former member of the Billings Lioness Club.
Grace was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Genevieve Leonard and Helen Deppmeier, and her brother, Edward Schend.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years, David; children, Arla Armstrong of Greeley, Colo., Emma (Ron) Evanson of Havre, Robert L. Armstrong, Gwen Armstrong and Byron C. Armstrong, all of Billings; brother, Cecil (Georgiann) Schend of Havre; brother-in-law, Lynn Deppmeier of Havre; five grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
