RAY AMAN obituary

BIG SANDY - Ray Aman, 78, retired grain elevator operator and Army veteran died Tuesday, June 17, 2003, with his family by his side at a Great Falls hospital after a short illness.

The funeral service will be 10 a.m. Saturday at the United Methodist Church in Big Sandy with the Rev. Marvin Eldridge officiating. Burial with full military honors will

follow at the Big Sandy Cemetery. A fellowship will be held at the church immediately following the graveside service.

Services and arrangements are under the direction of Holland and Bonine Funeral Home.

Ray was born on Jan. 2, 1925, to Mr. and Mrs. G. F. Aman in Lehr, N.D. He was raised and educated in Lehr. He entered into the U.S. Army and served in the Korean War. He was honorably discharged as private first class in June 1953. He returned to Lehr, N.D., where he managed McCabe Grain Elevators. He later transferred to Big Sandy to manage the McCabe elevator there.

He was united in marriage to Gladys Bosch on June 17, 1956, in Havre. Ray later managed the Big Sandy Grain Co. until his retirement in 1980.

Ray was an active member of the Odd Fellows and American Legion. Ray enjoyed woodworking, especially his grandfather clocks. He collected coins, liked to visit with his friends, but his highlight was spending time with his grandchildren, Valerie and Zachary.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his four sisters and two brothers.

Ray is survived by his wife, Gladys Aman of Big Sandy; son, Brent (DeDe) Aman of Polson; sisters, Gladys Vogel of La Mesa, Calif., and Vivian (Richard) Fietchner, of Mesa, Ariz; brothers, Eugene (Connie) Aman and Harry Aman, both of Wishek, N.D.; and two grandchildren.
