MORGAN COCHRAN obituary

LODGE POLE - Morgan Cochran, 39, a college student, died Saturday, May 24, 2003, at his home in Billings from a self-inflicted overdose.

Funeral services were scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday at the Medicine Bear Lodge in Lodge Pole. A wake and rosary were held

Wednesday evening at the Medicine

Bear Lodge. Cremation was to follow the funeral services.

Morgan was born on Feb. 9, 1964, at Malta, to Jean Brisbo LaTray and Kenneth Cochran. He was baptized in Lodge Pole and grew up most of his life in Billings. He received his GED while in Crossroads Prison in Shelby. At the time of his death he was a student at MSU-Billings.

Morgan loved to bead, play the guitar, play basketball, and play handball the traditional Indian way. He excelled in his artistic ability. Morgan helped to get spiritual sweats for the Indian prisoners while in prison.

He loved to tease and always had a good time. He loved all of his family and friends.

Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Jean LaTray and Gilbert "Machine" Cliff of Lodge Pole; sons, Justin Cochran, 16, and Daniel Cochran, 13, of Dilcon, Ariz., and Jason Alderdice Cochran of Loma; sisters, Lori (George) Henderson and Dovey (Ronald) Smith, all of Billings; uncle, Chan Healy of Malta; special niece, Tanza Smith of Billings; nieces, Tracy Smith, Jasmine Henderson, Jessie Crowder, Kendall Henderson, all of Billings; nephews, Ronald Smith Jr., Kyle LaTray, Jareh Henderson, all of Billings; numerous great nieces and great nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Cochran; grandmother, Jeanette Cochran; uncle, Wade "Dewey" Healy; and cousin, Lawrence Healy.

Adams Funeral Home and Hi-Line Crematory are in charge of the arrangements.
