OLDS, Alberta - Annie Pauline Beattie, 78, died at an Olds hospital on May 4, 2003.
A graveside service at the Rolling Hills Cemetery was held today at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Lance Penny of the Great Bend Church of Christ officiating.
Annie was born in Kremlin on March 11, 1925.
Annie was preceded in death by her first husband, Gerald Staples; sisters, Elenora Larson and Irene Swartz; her parents, Christ and Hilda; and stepmother, Leona Gomke.
Survivors include her husband, John Beattie of Olds, Alberta, Canada; son, Byron (Judy) Staples of Chiliwack, British Columbia; daughter, Penny (Ralph) Covey of Calgary; brothers, Melvin (Judy) Gomke and Donald Gomke, both of Kremlin; sisters, Frances Bitz of Bremerton, Wash. and Alma Klobofski of Havre; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In living memory of Annie, a tree will be planted at the Fish Creek Provincial Park in Calgary by the McInnis and Holloway Funeral Homes in Airdrie, Alberta, Canada.
