Maryhelen C. Habeger, 73, of Havre and Yuma, Ariz., died on Tuesday, April 15, 2003, at a Phoenix, Ariz., hospital.
Cremation has taken place.
Holy rosary and a vigil will be recited at Holland and Bonine Funeral Chapel at 7 p.m. Sunday. A memorial service and Mass will be conducted at St. Jude's Catholic
Church in Havre on Monday at 11 a.m., with interment in the Calvary Cemetery immediately following. A luncheon will be held at St. Jude's reception hall.
She was born on June 14, 1929, to Chester D. and Katherine Clark in Havre. She attended Havre Central and Havre High School, graduating in 1948.
She married her life-long companion and high school sweetheart Richard D. (Dick) Habeger on May 20, 1950, in St. Jude's Catholic Church in Havre. They enjoyed a wonderful marriage of 52 years together where they raised their five children. In addition to being a wonderful mother and homemaker, Maryhelen began her working career with the Bell Telephone Co. as an operator. She worked as a public employee for Hill County, first in the Clerk and Recorder's Office and then in the Clerk of Court's Office. She was elected clerk of court and held office for 20 years, retiring in 1989.
Maryhelen cherished her time with her family, she loved to shop, play cards, and camp out and fish in the Bear Paw Mountains or anywhere friends and family were at hand.
Maryhelen was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Chet and Harry Clark.
She is survived by her husband, Dick Habeger; sister, Kay Weibers of Royal Oak, Mich .; children, Susan Habeger of Great Falls, Jim (Lisa) Habeger of Havre, Richard (Theresa) Habeger of Columbia Falls, Jeanette (Kenneth) Kranz of Great Falls and John Habeger of Butte; and 12 grandchildren.
Memorials may be given to the memorial of the donor's choice.
