Florence Alma Lindquist, 80, retired farmer/rancher died Monday, April 21, 2003, at a Chinook nursing home of natural causes.
Viewing will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the Holland and Bonine Funeral Home. Thre funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday at the Holland and Bonine Funeral
Chapel with the Rev. Mike Parr officiating. Burial will follow the service at the Highland Cemetery. There will be a luncheon at The Eagles Club immediately after the services at the cemetery.
Florence was born in Benchland on June 25, 1922, to Carl and Rose (Weyh) Schmidt. She grew up in the Havre area. She attended grade school at the Amos School North of Havre and graduated from Havre High School. After high school, Florence worked for the draft board in Havre.
Florence married Carl Linquist on Dec. 14, 1947. The couple lived most of their lives on their cattle ranch at Grass Range. After Carl got arthritis, they spent their winters in Mesa, Ariz. After Carl died, Florence moved back to Havre.
Florence always liked to cook and her mother let her daughters cook the meals when they wanted to. Florence was very artistic. She made beautiful dresses, especially wedding dresses. She made doll lamps that were very pretty. Florence also made and decorated wedding cakes, birthday cakes and anniversary cakes. She loved animals, mostly cats. Florence worked with her husband in the hay fields.
Florence was preceded in death by her parents, and husband, Carl Linquist.
She is survived by her sister, Margaret R. Anderson of Havre; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Memorials in Florence's honor may be made to the Sweet Memorial Nursing Home, U.S. Highway 2, Chinook, MT 59523.
