HARLEM - William T. "Bill" Mohar, 93, died on Saturday, March 29, 2003, at a Havre hospital due to natural causes.
A funeral Mass will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Saint Thomas Catholic Church with burial following at the Turner Cemetery. Following the burial, there will be
a fellowship and reception at the Big Flat Catholic Church. A vigil will be recited today at 7 p.m. in the Saint Thomas Catholic Church.
Bill was born in Cleveland, Ohio, to Joseph and Julia (Wolfe) Mohar on Sept. 12, 1909. He came to Montana in 1914 with his parents and attended schools at Cherry Patch School. He graduated from Harlem High School in 1928. He farmed with his father on the Big Flat.
Bill married Janette Anderson on Dec. 27, 1926, in Chinook. They later purchased the family farm from his father and farmed until selling the farm to Fred Mohar Jr. in 1972. Bill and his wife moved to Harlem.
Bill loved to fish and hunt, and before his wife's death, they did everything together. Bill served on the TV board and the Equity Co-op board for a number of years. He was known by his family as "Grandpa Bill" or "Uncle Bill."
Survivors include his sister, Jo Irene O'Leary of Harlem; and cousins, nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be sent to the Saint Thomas Catholic Church, Harlem Senior Citizens Center or to one's choice.
Arrangements are by Edwards Funeral Home in Chinook.
