FORT BELKNAP - Ralph C. Gray Sr. (Wanni oh-yay) "Eagle Track," 67, died Thursday, March 27, 2003, at his home due to natural causes.
Ralph was born at Lodge Pole to Andrew Gray and Agnes (Gives The Blanket) Long Fox on May 8, 1935.
Ralph was an experienced welder and worked for many years
in Montana and California. He worked for five years for the BIA. Ralph was a firm believer in his Indian ways. He loved going to powwows, singing with his children, cooking and visiting with family and friends. He took great pride in his children and grandchildren.
Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Agnes Gray; brothers, Charles A. Gray Boy Sr., Gordon G. Gray Sr., Lyndon P. Gray, Walter Long Fox Jr. and Gregory Long Fox.
Survivors include his sons, Andrew Gray, Ralph Gray Jr., and Terry Gray, all of Fort Belknap, and Gordon D. Gray of Rocky Boy; daughters, Andrea Gray Reeves of North Carolina, Gwen Gray Hagler of Laramie, Wyo., Carol Gray Bazzant of Utah, Jarey Gray Whitehawk of Wyoming; brothers, Emery Gray and Joseph Gray, both of Wolf Point, Robert Long Fox and Merrill Gray, both of Lodge Pole; sisters, Lydia Snell and Julia Long Fox, both of Lodge Pole, and Ovilla Long Fox of Minnesota; adopted brothers, Philmore Whitehawk and Tommy Christen, both of Poplar, Ralph Jones of Brockton, Robert Four Star of Wolf Point, Glen Anaquod of Canada, and Clint Able of Malta; 21 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
