RUTH NYSTROM
Ruth M. Nystrom, 76, died Thursday, June 10, 1999, at a Havre care center of natural causes.
Memorial services will be 8 p.m. Monday at the Sixth Avenue Christian Church with her nephew Paul Nystrom officiating. Burial of the ashes at Highland Cemetery will be at a later date.
Nystrom was born Aug. 8, 1922, in Havre to George and Pearl (Biddle) Cooper. She grew up in Havre and attended Havre public schools. She also lived in Bozeman where she attended Mount Ellis Academy.
On May 18, 1941, she married Karl Nystrom in Missoula. The couple lived and farmed north of Havre where she was a homemaker. She also helped her husband on the farm.
Nystrom was involved in community service and established the Community Giveaway House several years ago. She was the organizations director until 1993. She was an active member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church and held a number of church offices throughout her life.
She enjoyed flowers, gardening, cake decorating, traveling and decorating her church for special occasions. She also enjoyed spending time at the Community Giveaway House and her church.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Violet Sjorgen.
Survivors include her husband, Karl Nystrom of Havre; a daughter, Carol Forshee of Caldwell, Idaho; a son, Clair Nystrom of Bozeman; two sisters, Orel Comer and Lois Dunks both of Puyallup, Wash .; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Memorials are suggested to the Community Giveaway House or to the donors choice.
Arrangements are under the direction of Holland & Bonine Funeral Home.
