  • Out Our Way: Tighten that cinch - Phillippians 1:20

    Updated Aug 4, 2022

Out our way I once heard someone say "There are bold cowboys and old cowboys, but no old, bold cowboys." Well, that isn't exactly the truth. Now I will say I never met an old cowboy who wasn't banged up along the way , but I never met a cowboy worth anything who wasn't bold when boldness was called for. Now me, being perhaps the worst cowboy to work a herd in the history of the profession, and also something of a wimp , have seldom been bold like many others have, but there we...

I was discussing a passage of Scripture with a group of guys at a Men's Prayer Breakfast on Tuesday morning at 7 a.m. at Havre Assembly of God Church. The passage of Scripture was Jesus Christ's "Parable of the bags of gold" in Matthew 25:14-30 (NIV). Here is how it reads: 14 "Again, it will be like a man going on a journey, who called his servants and entrusted his wealth to them. 15 To one he gave five bags of gold, to another two bags, and to another one bag, each...

  • Grief Poem - Sweet is their Memory

    Updated Aug 4, 2022

More folks have left, both young and old. They flew off through the air. We miss our loved ones very much, but know our family's there. God made us Red, Yellow, Black or White, we're all precious in His sight. God made us all, He'll call us home, and we will be all right. While we're down here, we miss our dears, since they were called away. So many things we'd like to share, had they been left to stay. Our dear one's gone - a river crossed to shore of evergreen. We long to...

  • Hello, God. It's me, Mara.

    Updated Aug 4, 2022

You know, Lord, sometimes things come in bunches like good things, bad things, happy things, sad things - even hurtful things. It's the hurtful things that are hardest to deal with. We don't want the attitude of one lady who, as she spoke in an unforgiving voice said, "I forgive you but I'll never forget!" We've probably all heard about the lady who knew she had a bad gossiping problem. She went to her Pastor and confessed that she knew she gossiped - so, what could she do...
