It's been here for decades, it's weathered hellacious winters, floods, hail, wind and heat. It's been through a lot over the years, and yet, it still stands. Sometimes the lack of rain dried out the upper reservoir and the grass simply didn't come in like it normally would, so we would have to move the herd to another pasture. Sometimes, as I have written about before, a...
Last Sunday, I preached a message titled "I Am Healed." Here are some highlights from that message: We have to be careful not to draw conclusions about the will of God based on bad experiences. Bad things happen all the time that God doesn't desire. The earthly reality of something doesn't...
You know, Lord, a three-generation family occupies a row in church. The young family has three little children; Mamma holds baby, 2-year-old hugs Daddy, the 4-year-old climbs onto the seats, walks over to Grandpa; the audience stands, singing. Gramps knows she's there, but waits until she pats his arm, turns, smiles and picks her up. She hugs him just as little sister hugs Daddy; she puts her head on his shoulder and shuts her eyes. So cute. Dads and fathers, may you pay...
