    Ila McClenahan|Updated Nov 7, 2022

As I write this, today is Halloween, Oct. 31. I realize this won't be published until Nov. 7, but I have some things that I've been thinking quite a bit about and thought I would "put pen to paper." • Out Our Way: It's just our nature - Matthew 7:12

    Updated Nov 4, 2022

Out our way, you often see the Golden Rule in action amongst critters as well as people. Sometimes more so. I recall the first time I saw "babysitting" cows. One cow would stay with all the calves while the other mamas would go on down to the water or graze a different section of pasture. They took turns caring for each other's calves and shared the load. No big deal. It's just natural. As some of you know, I had a "Rez Dog" named "Jack." A "Rez Dog" is a semi-domesticated...

  • Pastor's Corner: All Saints - All Souls - life – death - Hell - Heaven

    Updated Nov 4, 2022

On the other hand, as Christians, all the subjects listed in the above title are very likely on our mind and heart each and every day. So perhaps - considering the time of year - it might be wise for me to spend some time "chumming the water" about the six very relative topics mentioned in the title above. In the last few days, all the...

Some rain could fall, it's needed here. 'Twould make a lovely day. It's time to bring the cows back home - they ate the pasture clean. They sure do like their summer time - now brown where once was green. Harvest is done and hay hauled in, prepared for winter time. A rancher's work is...

  • Grief Poem - I Have Not Gone - I've Been Set Free

    Updated Nov 4, 2022

I was set free, don't grieve for me, just wanted you to know. I'm following the path God made, sometimes it's all aglow! I took His hand when He called me, I had to leave that day. I turned my back, left all behind, left love and work and play. So much was left undone down there, I left an empty place. But I found peace at close of day as God showed me His Grace. So - fill that place, a friendship shared, remembering all our joy. Laughs, hugs, a kiss, these things I miss, abse...
