  • From the Fringe ... I've always felt the 9C Tournament was the biggest show in town

    George Ferguson|Updated Feb 17, 2023

Inside what I consider to be the best hospitality room each year, a close friend of mine walked up to me and quietly said: "You're going to miss this." The "this" he was referring to, in the moment anyway, was covering the 9C tournament and he isn't wrong. In my humble opinion, there is nothing quite like the 9C tournament, a tournament I've covered for almost my entire time at the Havre Daily, save last year when COVID-19 put me out of commission at the worst possible time....

  • Out Our Way: Cowboy up - Revelation 3:10

    Updated Feb 17, 2023

Out our way, as the years go by, it seems the trail has gotten steeper, the dust blowing in my face thicker, and the winds are colder. I also am reminded of every "wreck" and "dusting" I experienced over the years as old aches and pains have come calling. I am painfully reminded, especially when the weather changes, of times when I was tossed, stomped and occasionally needing to visit the doctor. A friend suggested that there was probably also a "Make A Special Soup Day." We didn't look...
