The Havre Fire Department responded to a structure fire about three miles east of Havre on U.S. Highway 2 Tuesday morning at 6:47 a.m. Havre Fire responded with two trucks, and Bear Paw Volunteer Fire Department assisted with one truck. The outbuilding and a power pole were a complete loss. A windbreak sustained significant damage, but the main residence nearby was undamaged by fire. Three people today escaped an early morning house fire in the middle of Kremlin that officials say totally destroyed the residence. Kremlin Fire Chief Kody Peterson said the call came in sometime before 2 a.m. today, but the fire was already significantly established by the time firefighters arrived. Havre City Council started the process Monday to replace the position being vacated by City Judge Virginia Seigel. Seigel announced her resignation to the City Council during the Nov. 19 council meeting. She will serve her last day as city judge Jan. 21. The council did not take action at that time because Seigel had not requested to put the consideration of her resignation or appointing her recommended replacement, her clerk, Tyson Bliwernitz, on the council agenda. Press release GREAT FALLS – A Box Elder resident admitted in federal court on Dec. 10 to domestic abuse charges for repeatedly assaulting the victim, U.S. Attorney Kurt G. Alme said. Cole Young Bad Hawk, 24, pleaded guilty to domestic abuse by an habitual offender. U.S. District Judge Brian M. Morris presided at the hearing. Judge Morris set sentencing for March 21.
