This is to see if the U.S. and Can...

The following is a sampling of news items and information bites that we , the ever-vigilant here in the Pamville Newsroom, felt compelled to share — and comment on: News agencies in the San Fransisco Bay area are reporting that a semitrailer overturned on the freeway, spilling more than 25,000 pounds of frozen turkeys onto the pavement. • Our View: Hi-Line darts and laurels

    Updated Nov 21, 2014

Laurel — The American Society of Civil Engineers did a study of Montana’s infrastructure. It came to the obvious conclusion. the state of Montana’s roads and public infrastructure is pretty sad. We suspect if they did a detailed study of the state of the infrastructure on the Hi-Line, the report would be just as bad or worse. Having a quality infrastructure would do much to improve the state’s chances of attracting new businesses and new jobs. It also makes life far more pleasant for residents. It’s time the federal g...

  • It's finally time for the Brawl

    George Ferguson|Updated Nov 21, 2014

With nothing big on the line, the annual showdown between the Montana Grizzlies and Montana State Bobcats would still be the biggest event to take place in the Treasure State year after year. But that's never the case anyway. No, when the Bobcats and Grizzlies meet in the annual Brawl of the Wild, the stakes are always high. And the 114th edition of the Cat-Griz game, which takes place Saturday in Missoula, is no different. The No. 12 Bobcats (8-3, 6-1) and No. 13 Grizzlies (7...

The coalition wants drivers and passengers alike to remember to buckle up every trip, every time. The potential consequences are just too great tur...

  • Out Our Way:  The lilies of the field

    Updated Nov 21, 2014

John Bruington Out our way, most of us know the joke, "What do you get when you play a country western song backward?" You get your wife back, your dog back, your horse back, and your truck back. But sometimes that record doesn't go in reverse and you just keep losing one part of your life after another. As some of you know, I am presently dealing with my life as a country western song that just keeps going on and on. In addition to all the rest, I have also spent the past...

  • Pastor's Corner: Hearing and serving the Lord

    Updated Nov 21, 2014

John Chapman As we recognized Veterans Day last week, recalling those who have served our county including those who laid down their lives for our freedoms, I am reminded of Jesus’ praise in Matthew 8:5-10, “Now when Jesus had entered Capernaum, a centurion came to Him, pleading with Him, saying, ‘Lord, my servant is lying at home paralyzed, dreadfully tormented.’ And Jesus said to him, ‘I will come and heal him.’ The centurion answered and said, ‘Lord, I am not worthy that You should come under my roof. But only speak a...
