The Hill County sanitarian’s oversight on health issues soon will be spreading far beyond the borders of the county. Hill County Sanitarian and Planner Clay Vincent was among the appointments Gov. Steve Bullock announced to his Healthier Montana Task Force. The Great Northern Fair Board is moving forward with plans for the next Hill County fair, including an update on the carnival — with which many were disappointed last summer — and bringing back the local association to put on the rodeo, as well as finalizing the nighttime entertainment and selecting new free stage entertainers. A Havre attorney said this morning he will be filing paperwork in state District Court listing the resolution of a months-long dispute over who had authority over a decades-old Havre charity. Stephen Brown said the two sides in a lawsuit about Community Giveaway House agreed during a settlement conference Tuesday to appoint four members to a new board. The Havre Elks Lodge Annual Hoop Shoot is coming to the Havre Central Gym Sunday. The annual free-throw contest will start at 2 p.m. with registration taking place at 1:30 p.m. The hoop shoot is open to boys and girls ages 8-13 and registration is free.
