    The United States Department of Agriculture announced Monday it is extending its free children's summer meal service to December, and it is being used at some local schools, although it does not apply to some others.     The deadline for responses to the 2020 Census is Sept. 30, and the Hi-Line area is lagging behind the rest of the state when it comes to response rate. Bear Paw Development Corp. Executive Director Paul Tuss said according to the numbers he’s seen, every county in his organization’s development district has a lower response rate than Montana as a whole with Hill County at 54 percent compared to the state’s 58.     Press release Montana State University-Northern announced that it received two major gifts this past week totaling $250,000 in support of MSU-Northern’s athletic facilities. The gifts were made to the MSU-Northern Foundation and came from two local sources. The Patrick Family gifted $200,000 and an anonymous donor contributed $50,000.
