    The Montana State University-Northern volleyball season is underway. Last weekend, the Skylights opened their season at the Big Sky Challenge in Butte. Northern started the first weekend of the regular season with a loss to Embry-Riddle University, falling by scores of 25-22, 23-25, 21-25 and 23.25.     Press release Havre Trails members said they are excited to host the 6th Annual Summerfest in Havre’s Pepin Park Saturday, Aug. 24, from 2 to 7 p.m. The event will feature dozens of beers, ciders, wines, and seltzers, as well as live music and food.   • The Salvation Army, Walmart provide back-to-school clothes for children in need

    Havre Daily News staff The Salvation Army Northwest and Walmart are providing an opportunity to children and families in need to shop for new back-to-school clothing. The event is completely funded by donations to The Salvation Army. People can donate at alarmy.us/btsoldnavy. A release said the program will provide 800 children in need with new clothing to start the new year. Each child receives $150 worth of clothing.     The city pool end of summer closure for the Havre swimming pool this year will be from Aug. 19 to Sept. 2. “We will let you know our fall hours once everything is finalized,” a release from Havre Parks and Recreation Department said.
