Wild Horse Volunteer Fire Department firefighters responded to a grassland fire on the 10100 Block of River Road shortly before 9 p.m. Tuesday. The fire appeared to start from an electrical arc where a tree branch had been rubbing on a power line, Wild Horse Fire Chief Shawn Rismon said. It was hard to gauge in the dark, he said, but he thinks between 20 and 25 acres burned and other than the power pole and line no damage was reported. Hill County Electric repaired damage to the power line. Rismon said he was grateful for...

  • The postseason is here for the Northstars

    Chris Peterson|Updated Jul 25, 2018

The Havre Northstars American Legion club team has been playing some up and down baseball as of late. But as of last Thursday, it doesn't matter because last Thursday against Lethbridge was the end of the regular season. And in the postseason, which for the Northstars is the Northern A District tournament, records don't matter. The only thing that does is finishing among the top two teams at the four-day tournament in Conrad because the teams that do that will advance to...
