A fire fully took a residence's garage and two vehicles parked outside it around 5:30 this morning. Firefighters received a call at 5:33 a.m. from the 600 Block of 2nd Avenue about a fire that had begun in a garage. When the fire was extinguished, the garage was a total loss. Fire Chief Tim Hedges said there was about $30,000 worth of damage to the structure and $20,000 worth of damage to two vehicles parked next to the garage. City says underused parks divert resources Havre voters may get a chance this fall to sell off five city parks that city officials say are under-used. Mayor Tim Solomon said city attorneys are preparing legal papers that would authorize the city to sell the parks. Solomon said the parks department is anxious to sell the parks and concentrate resources on parks that city residents enjoy in large numbers. Havre police officers will be getting eight new files that will be in their patrol cars. The 14 MR KeyMod 5.56 caliber rifles will replace outdated rifles — some of which date back 30 years.
