  • Guest column : Company is coming … Are we ready?

    Updated Jun 29, 2016

I love Havre in the spring and summer, and this year it’s so green and beautiful. A kind of new beginning. New calves in the field, robins and meadowlarks singing on the fences, budding trees, the spring and summer flowers are making their showing and the burst of color from the wildflowers carpet the hillsides in Beaver Creek Park. We are so fortunate to have this natural beauty and abundant fresh air right out our back doors — we sometimes take it all for granted. Our community is blessed with a great heritage and bea...

Montana Farmers Union is proud to be collaborating with fellow agriculture groups in supporting the compact as it is mutually beneficial for the tribe and Montana’s agriculture producers. The compact will save individuals years of litigation, protect current uses, ensure that commu...

Yet for years, farmers and ranchers have entered the same basic common information from their acreage...

  • George Ferguson Column: Year after year, Fat was always there

    George Ferguson|Updated Jun 29, 2016

Legion Field is one of the busiest places in Havre in the summer. It’s the mecca for competitive, high-level baseball in these parts. Each summer, it’s where the community gathers to watch our oldest kids play what has always been America’s favorite past time. But, this summer, Legion Field, and Havre North Stars home games are missing something, or rather someone. It’s missing Leland “Fat” Slonaker. You see, Fat absolutely loved to come to the grand old ballpark perched high...
