For as long as just about any local golfer can remember, one thing consistent with every summer is Beaver Creel Golf Course. It's been here for decades, it's weathered hellacious winters, floods, hail, wind and heat. It's been through a lot over the years, and yet, it still stands. Over the years, BCGC has also changed owners a few times as well, and that's the case as the great old course heads into the busy summer months of 2021. Recently, longtime Hi-Line residents Craig...

Since the fire, Tra...

A 38-year-old man was stuck for two days inside the pipe base of a giant fan in a California vineyard. And I think this might be a sign. The man is, The Associate Press reported June 9, expected to recover, though the photo shows a barely-larger-than-human sized pipe with a bare knee and thigh sticking out of an access hole. The guy said he climbed the fan to get a good view of the nearby tractor for a photo. Before you all succumb to the urge to roll your eyes and say, “Californians,” you should know that officers rep...

Out our way, things go pretty smooth most of the time up on the Tiger Ridge. After all, the pastures are fenced, there is good water, and usually good grazing. Even so, Charlie and I would regularly go check the herd, for things were not always easy and fine. Sometimes the lack of rain dried out the upper reservoir and the grass simply didn't come in like it normally would, so we would have to move the herd to another pasture. Sometimes, as I have written about before, a...
Last Sunday, I preached a message titled "I Am Healed." Here are some highlights from that message: We have to be careful not to draw conclusions about the will of God based on bad experiences. Bad things happen all the time that God doesn't desire. For example, in 2 Peter 3:9, the Apostle Peter says that it is God's will that no one dies without first coming to salvation; yet unfortunately, unsaved people continue to die every day. The earthly reality of something doesn't...
You know, Lord, a three-generation family occupies a row in church. The young family has three little children; Mamma holds baby, 2-year-old hugs Daddy, the 4-year-old climbs onto the seats, walks over to Grandpa; the audience stands, singing. Gramps knows she's there, but waits until she pats his arm, turns, smiles and picks her up. She hugs him just as little sister hugs Daddy; she puts her head on his shoulder and shuts her eyes. So cute. Dads and fathers, may you pay...
The Montana East-West Shrine Game always features a Hi-Line standout or two. Last year however, that wasn't the case for Hi-Line football players, or gridders from anywhere else in the Treasure State for that matter. That's because COVID-19 just wouldn't make the Shrine Game possible. That, however, was 2020. Now, in the summer of 2021, the Shrine Game is back, and as always local players and coaches will be a big part of the festivities in Billings. The 2021 Montana...
