    The retrial of a Havre man convicted of negligent homicide in 2014 in the shooting death of his brother started today in state District Court in the Hill County Courthouse. The retrial of Shane Clark Johnson started with jury selection this morning, with District Judge Matthew Cuffe presiding. In initial discussions, Cuffe said they expected opening arguments may be made this afternoon.   • Park board discusses lodge stabilization and future repairs

    At the monthly meeting of the Hill County Park Board Monday evening, Beaver Creek Park Superintendent Chad Edgar said the the lodge at the park has been stabilized, but further repairs will be needed in the coming months. Edgar said Korb Construction was able to complete the initial stabilization project in time for the lodge to function all summer, and they’ve received no complaints about its condition from users since work was completed.     Havre City Council set fees for ambulance service during its meeting Monday. The minimum fee for ambulance services — basic and advanced life support — will be $700 and $800, respectively. $20 will be charged for each one-fourth hour or part thereof for stand-by time on an ambulance call.     Havre Daily News staff Havre-Hill County Library Summer Reading will kick off at Pepin Park Wednesday with a special Nature Fest/Summer Reading event that will take the library’s Story Time to the park.
