    Havre Parks and Recreation Department announced that, due to recent vandalism, the rest rooms at the city parks are closed to the public until further notice. “We apologize for any inconvenience,” the department said in the release.     Montana State University-Northern men's basketball coach Shawn Huse has announced the signing of a prep standout from his hometown. Will Burns, a 6-0 point guard signed with the Lights last week.   • COVID-19 cases rise in younger people as vaccination in the county slows

    In a COVID-19 update Friday Hill County Public Health Director and Health Officer Kim Berg said only 36 percent of Hill County’s eligible population has been fully vaccinated, down by one percent since the last update two weeks ago. Berg said because the Pfizer vaccine recently obtained approval for use in people 12 years and older, the eligible population of the county has jumped from about 12,000 to 13,256. This has resulted in the percentage of vaccinated people eligible in the county falling a percentage point. She said t...

    The Hill County Park Board’s Rules and Regulation Committee is holding the third meeting Wednesday in a series of meetings on a controversial topic — beaver management in Beaver Creek Park.     After session adjourned, Judy and I took a few days for ourselves. We have six grandkids in Wyoming from ages 4 to 17. So, we went south and celebrated two birthdays and attended both a track meet and soccer game while visiting two of our kids and both their families.
