BUTTE (AP) — Officials in Butte are considering a $92,000 loan request and a grant of $8,750 to help refurbish a 42-room brothel in what was once the middle of the city's red light district. Deborah Davey Keller was driving home on U.S. Highway 87 recently. She saw a southbound car stopped in the opposite lane ready to turn left into Northern Winz Casino. "I saw him, and I was going to take my car off cruise control," Keller said. "But he was stopped, so I didn't worry." Suddenly, the other driver turned into the casino just as she passed. A man in his 20s stood in the Salvation Army Service Center Friday, carrying a plastic bag full of Christmas gifts for his 4-year-old daughter. The Montana State University-Northern wrestling team was up against some big programs Sunday in Reno, Nev. But the Lights made the most of the opportunity. The No. 2-ranked NAIA Lights placed 11th at the prestigious Reno Tournament of Champions Sunday, scoring 38.5 points.
