Recently, Pleninger was one of three Montana grapplers to receive the State-Wide Blewett Wrestling Scholarship.   • Police contract OK'd by Havre City Council

    A one-year labor relations contract between the city of Havre and its police and dispatchers’ unions was approved by City Council Monday night. The deal calls for a 1.5 percent pay raise. There are other relatively minor changes in the contract, Mayor Tim Solomon said. For instance, four city-owned cell phones will be issued at the start of each shift. About 90 competitors from Harlem, Chinook, Big Sandy, Chester, Malta, Turner and Havre walked, ran, jumped and threw.     People from the Havre area are invited to a noon gathering of patriotism and nondenominational prayer on Town Square Thursday in observance of the National Day of Prayer. The gathering will include speeches and collective prayer led by local religious and political figures.     With the little girl a few feet away, the man who admitted to running her over was sentenced to two years of probation Monday morning in state District Court. Riley Harwood, who had pleaded guilty to the charge of criminal child endangerment, had at least 12 people file in the courtroom to show support during his sentence hearing.     Voters will have until 8 p.m today to cast ballots in school elections throughout the state. Locally, there are contests in all school districts except Big Sandy and Box Elder.
