    A jury trial scheduled to begin today was canceled after a man accused of possessing lewd pictures of a 16-year-old girl pleaded guilty during a change of plea hearing Friday in state District Court in Havre. Gary L. Peterson, of Havre, born in 1967, was charged with 32 counts of sexual abuse of children Dec. 19. He pleaded guilty Friday to three of those counts before District Judge Daniel Boucher. Representatives defeated Senate Bill 416 twice Saturday morning with a final vote of 60-34 before they agreed to reconsider it again today.     Democratic U.S. Sen. Jon Tester of Big Sandy will speak to graduates of Montana State University-Northern Saturday. Graduates will proceed into the Armory Gymnasium at 10 a.m. for the ceremonies.   • Harlem man dies, another injured in crash near Loma

    GREAT FALLS (AP) — A 46-year-old Harlem man died and another man was injured in a weekend crash near Loma. The Montana Highway Patrol says the victim was driving south on U.S. Highway 87 at about 3 p.m. Sunday when the car drifted off the left side of the road. The driver corrected to the right and the car went off the right side of the road and rolled. Both men were ejected from the vehicle. The driver was pronounced dead at the hospital in Big Sandy.     To maintain the quality of drinking water in Havre, Public Works periodically needs to flush the water system through city hydrants. This week, firefighters will flush hydrants, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday on 2nd Street, moving east.
