Hill and the surrounding counties have seen flooding on roads as the winter's substantial snow accumulation has melted over the last few days. Spring skiing! A bittersweet time. A warm day, the sun shining, the two conspiring to undo the snow that brought such delight this year. A small crowd was expected the Saturday before Easter. Warm temperatures drive people to other pursuits. But people weren't ready to see the season end. A great crowd made its way to the hill, and kids, there were loads of kids. Many who were beginners at the start of the season had progressed to making regular runs from midway, some even...
I saw the burro wearing pants and carrying a basket filled with paper flowers. “Oh, my gosh!” I said. “That poor burro.” There are several burros with this job in this Mexican town and, as burro employment goes, it’s a pretty easy gig. The burro wears a rustic basket filled with bright paper flowers and is led by a man in a similarly rustic costume, and they follow wedding processions, providing photo opportunities for the guests. The burro is photographed dozens of times and...

With so much late winter and early spring snow, courses will certainly be wet, and minor flooding around the Havre area is also occurring right now, so golfers will once again have to wait patently to finally get on the links in Havre and other courses around the Hi-Line. Of course, golf plans do continue. Flooding will...
