    In Blaine County District Court Monday, Jasper Wendland was sentenced to pay thousands of dollars in restitution for destroying nearly half a million dollars in farming equipment in a drunken rampage in 2022, but no jail time, with a six year deferred imposition of sentence. Judge Olivia Rieger said Wendland must pay nearly $40,000 to the Gasvoda family of Lone Tree Cattle Company, and $3,700 to Blaine County for the night of destruction, though she did not impose restitution...

    James "Jim" Phillip Greytak, 74, was born Aug. 17, 1949, in Kalispell to Rosemary (Lowe) and Phillip Greytak of Bigfork, formerly of Havre. Jim passed away Feb. 4, 2024, after a valiant battle with cancer. Jim graduated from Bigfork High School in 1967 and attended Carroll College, graduating with a degree in history in 1971.     This past weekend at the Northern B Divisional Boys Basketball Tournament in Malta, the Chinook boys basketball team was looking to go on a run in order to qualify for the Class B State Tournament in a few weeks.     The Montana Amateur Hockey Association postseason has arrived and last weekend, the Havre Ice Hawks 19U girls team played at their state tournament. The tournament took place in Glasgow, where the Ice Hawks went 0-3 in pool play, before going 1-1 in the bracket round. Havre opened the tournament with a 6-0 loss to Missoula Friday.
