  • View from the North 40: Perspective changes everything, but it's not the only answer

    Pam Burke|Updated Feb 11, 2022

“Everything in life is a matter of perspective,” that’s one of my favorite quotes from myself — though, to be fair to humans of the world, I hardly think the phrase is unique to me. Still, it is one of my few, and simple, guiding principles for life. You just have to look at things the right way to see and understand them more clearly, or even just to feel better. Sometimes that act of seeing, that just-right perspective, is both literal and figurative. Like a horse I saw in...

  • After early heartbreak, Orion Thivierge has forged a spectacular and dominant Blue Pony wrestling career

    Kason Clark|Updated Feb 11, 2022

  • Out Our Way: Calving season - Isaiah 30:20-21

    Updated Feb 10, 2022

Out our way, the skies are dark and the snow is deep. The Alberta Clippers come screaming across the Milk River and with the wind chill, 30 degree below zero is not unusual. As many of you know, Montana winters account for many of the "For Sale" signs that pop up in the more touristy region where wealthy Californians and Texans are sure they discovered Paradise last winter. Beautiful scenery coupled with, what seems to them, extremely low housing costs, entice them to sell...

  • Pastor's Corner: Sharing our joy, sharing our grief

    Updated Feb 10, 2022

Lutefisk: the piece of cod that passeth all understanding. I was so grateful to finally try this Norwegian delicacy at last week's Lutefisk and Swedish Meatball Dinner. I admit: I loved the fellowship more than the fish, but it's the fish that gives us the reason for the fellowship. And joy shared is joy multiplied. I think the same is often true of grief. Grief shared is grief divided. At the Greater Havre Area Ministerial Association's February meeting, the pastors heard a...

That was special to see - but they were not the only ones doing that. Then, a little girl...
