    George Ferguson|Updated Jan 28, 2021

The Havre Blue Ponies are on a roll. After winning four duals at home last weekend, it's safe to say the Ponies are starting to come on strong, just as the belated high school wrestling season finally heats up. Now, though, Havre will take its show back on the road, and HHS will head to new territory as the Ponies visit East Helena to dual the Vigilantes and Lockwood Lions, among others this weekend. Both programs are relative newcomers to Class A, with each school opening in...

Now, though, after an entire fall, and more than a year without it, volleyball is back, as the league begins a special spring season. Of course, there will be so much different about this season, including the fact that it is in the...

  • Letter to the Editor - Your voice needed at the legislature, in support of small business

    Updated Jan 28, 2021

The Montana state Legislature meets every other year. If you pay attention, you may have noticed quite a bit of controversy coming out of Helena this winter. I’d like to draw your attention to a bill that is refreshingly bipartisan. It could give small businesses and farms and ranches across the state a boost without costing taxpayers a dime. The bill is C-PACE: Commercial Property Assessed Capital Enhancements. C-PACE is an energy-efficiency financing tool for businesses and non-profits. It can help protect the character and...

  • Addressing the crisis of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Persons

    Updated Jan 28, 2021

Around 7 percent of Montanans are Native Americans, yet Indigenous people account for 26 percent of the missing persons cases in our state. Addressing the crisis of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Persons must be a priority for all leaders and communities throughout Big Sky Country, and as both a state senator and a member of the Northern Cheyenne, I’ve made it a top priority. He was a mere month away from celebrating six years o...
