This has been a week with lots of requests for my opinion on various current political matters. First, my thought about what happened in Washington, D.C. All I can say is what a travesty. The next question has to do with the legators’ safety at the Montana State Capitol. I have discussed this in prior articles, but it bears repeating. Personal and family safety has been an issue for me since my days in the Army. I worked security in the military and some training just sticks with you. Yes, I am concerned, not only for s...

Tuesday night also saw the Hays-Lodge Pole Thunderbirds step out of conference to take on Roy-Winifred, and the Outlaws were too much in a 79-39 win. They outscored HLP 51-21 in the first half, and the game was out of reach....

The T-Birds fell behind 23-8 in the first quarter and never caught up in a 52-24 loss. Ella Messerly scored 10...
COVID-19 has left no sport safe from interruption, and that includes high school and youth hockey. This past weekend, the Havre Ice Hawks high school hockey team had their games with the Helena Bighorns postponed because of positive cases in the Helena program, but in a twist of fate, that allowed the Ice Hawks to make up games against Missoula that were postponed last month for the same reasons. So Saturday night, the Ice Hawks squared off against the Bruins in the Havre Ice...
