    Sheila Forshee, former secretary-treasurer of the Giveaway House in North Havre, pleaded not guilty Monday in state District Court in Havre to charges including theft by a common scheme. Forshee was charged with one count of deceptive practices and one count of theft by a common scheme March 9. She pleaded not guilty Monday to both counts before District Judge Daniel Boucher. Forshee's attorney, Melody Brown, requested that Forshee be able to travel outside of Hill County... Full story

    The city of Havre is a step closer to allowing urban chickens after a vote of City Council Monday night. Council voted 4-1 with three members absent to move forward to a public hearing on the question at 7 p.m. Monday, April 20, at City Hall. Council could vote for final approval right after that.     Havreites will have an opportunity at 7 p.m. May 18 to express their views on a proposed sewer rate increase. City officials say they don’t know how much the increase will be yet, but say it will be substantial, perhaps 40 percent. The cost of the hike is largely due to a federally mandated construction of a massive addition to facilities on the north side that are estimated to cost about $9.3 million.     After 10,000 votes cast in three rounds of voting, Eugene’s Pizza of Glasgow has won the Montana Pizza Championship. Montana Mint website ran the contest, asking people to vote for their favorite pizza in the Treasurer State. Nalivka’s Original Pizza Kitchen in Havre finished second in the Final Four round of the event. Eugene’s, a fixture in downtown Glasgow since 1962, garnered 48 percent of the vote.
