The Hill County Park Board held lengthy discussions Monday concerning invasive weeds in Beaver Creek Park. Conrad Nystrom of the Hill County Conservation District said that the parks board has given the conservation district permission to move forward with the weed removal process. A water ban has been lifted in Joplin after a notice was issued to residents of Joplin Friday urging them not to use their water after a report claimed there was blue-colored water that had a bad odor. A Havre man has been charged with incest in a case involving a teenager. Robert McConnell, of Havre, born in 1980, was officially charged with three counts of incest Jan. 20. Lois Ann Nichols, deputy clerk of the Hill County Board of Commissioners, said Chad Murnin, a board member is no longer part of the fair board. “We had a term that came to an end and (Chad) no longer lives in Hill County. Shylo Main, a Havre resident, said that her son, Hunter Strait, committed suicide in 2010 due to bullying. Strait was 14-years-old at the time and was an eighth-grader at Hays-Lodge Pole Middle School. “He was a great kid, always smiling — always happy,” she said.
