Margaret Hencz's home at 529 7th Ave. has been chosen as the Bullhook Blossoms Yard of the Week. Hencz, Havre city judge, has a colorful flowerbed of tall and short zinnias stretching from the front porch steps to the street. The flowerbeds are accented with unique driftwood. The backyard has several bird feeders and baths. A blackboard is mounted on the side where she lists every kind of bird she has seen....
Dave Knudson cuts wood planks for the new foot bridge at the Railroad Pagers Campground in Beaver Creek Park. The bridge was designed to better survive flooding after it was washed out in 2011. Northern welding students built the bridge for the Pagers, using recycled metal, and the Pagers were doing finishing work on the bridge last week, before holding a celebration Saturday of the 20th anniversary of the campground....
Firefighter Aaron Triplett collects donations at 1st Street and 3rd Avenue Friday morning, a new location for the annual Fill the Boot campaign. Local 601 of the International Association Fire Fighters will be collecting money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association all day in downtown Havre. The event is held each year on Labor Day weekend, when the annual MDA telethon is on TV. The telethon will be aired on ABC starting Sunday....
