    The ever popular Holden's Hot Wheels Scotch Doubles is set for this weekend, with shift times of 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. on Sunday. You may sign up at the desk. A team is one adult and one junior and they need not be U.S.B.C members to bowl. Thursday night's from 7-10 p.m. is College Night.     The Family Doubles Tournament Qualifying will be this weekend. Anyone interested call Hi Line Lanes to set up a spot. The tournament consists of local qualifying. Bowlers must roll a score of 1,200 or better to advance to the regional in Billings on Jan. 26-27. A team consists of a parent and child. If bowlers do well they advance to the state finals, then on to the National tournament where in 2012 $70,000.in scholarships were awarded.     Hi Line Lanes is starting a Senior Fun Day on Thursday at 2 p.m. for those seniors who want to come out and bowl for a reduced rate. It is good exercise and you can band with a fun group. Senior bowlers do not have to show up every week only when they would want to.     In talking to the secretaries of the leagues, they are amazed at the high scores we have had so far. It is like the bowlers are in midseason form. Their score of 1,774 was followed by Dianne Watson and Chuck Wimmer with 1,704; Laine Fitzpatrick and Roman Surber 1,701; Sandy Jones and Kelly Olson with a 1,686; and rounding off the top five was Gina and Dustin Hoffman with a 1,676.     Roman Surber leads the way with his second 297 game of the season. Once again, he had a shot at the exclusive 300. Some bowlers never get a chance at even one in their lifetime, but two is a rarity, especially about a month apart as he just received his award for the first one being eleven-in-a-row plaque.     The 2012-2013 bowling season is now upon us. It seems like the summer was way too short (and very hot) as always. This writer received very good news after a trip to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. It seems like I don't have pulmonary fibrosis after all.     Hot scores continued last week as Ryan Mapes rolled the first 300 game of the 2012-13 season.     On Monday night of last week Shawn Mariani rolled his fourth 300-game at Hi Line Lanes.     On Saturday, Nov. 24th, 32 keglers tried to conquer the difficult lane conditions across the Hi Line Lanes. In the final game, Erik Kanning of Shelby took home the top prize of $380 by defeating James LaBuda of Big Sandy 181 to 208 in the step ladder.     Over the weekend we traveled to smokey Missoula for the annual Jamboree which was hosted by the Missoula USBC. We had a very good time and brought back a lot of information to pass to the bowlers of Havre. There have been some major changes in the state tournaments.     On thelast night of league bowling at Hi-Line Lanes, Havre's Kyle Surber was perfect. In Sunday Night Keglers on April 22, the last night of league, Surber rolled his first 300-game of his career followed by a pair of 209's for a 718 Series.
