Wade Christopher Colliflower, the former president of the Bear Paw Indian Rodeo Association, was given a prison sentence of six months and six months of house arrest for embezzling funds from the reservation. In a meeting with community members this morning, Havre High School principal Craig Mueller presented a proposal for disallowing academically at-risk students to leave the campus for lunch. The 17-year-old boy who is charged with stabbing three people in their home Saturday morning was charged with rape in December. Justice Lawrence Brown of Havre was accused of sexual intercourse without consent, a felony, for an event that occurred August 27, 2014. The alleged victim was 13 years old. Havre High School may be changing its policy on whether or not students can leave campus for lunch to a performance-based allowance. School board elections were held Tuesday and those who turned up for the vote chose their prefered candidates. The results are: Chinook Joel Pruttis took the one three-year positions after beating Mark Harshman 135 to 125. A mill levy was voted into existence, 231 to 91. The mill levy is for the general fund, and will be a $26,355.34 or 3.82 mills for proper maintenance and operation of the school programs. A Fort Belknap Indian Reservation man who pleaded guilty to strangling his girlfriend was sentenced Monday to 30 months in federal prison. The U.S. Interior Department has ordered the Chippewa Cree Tribe to pay former, elected business committee chairman Ken St. Marks a total of $648,430.35, but he doesn't get his job back.
