Havre Mayor Tim Solomon, a Democrat, won a second term Tuesday, defeating the man he beat four years ago, former Mayor Bob Rice. The first results showed Solomon defeating Rice 1,399-1,109, 55.8 percent of the vote, carrying all four wards. Butte 38, Bozeman 36 (AA) In an incredible finish, the Butte High Bulldogs captured their first state champion since 1990 by beating the Bozeman Hawks 38-36 Friday night in Butte. The Hawks, coached by former Havre High head coach Troy Purcell, had rallied from two touchdowns down in just two minutes, by scoring a TD, recovering an onside kick and scoring again. Chinook senior running back/linebacker Tyler Molyneaux signed a letter of intent to play football for the Minot State University Beavers starting next fall.
