Motorcyclists from the Canadian Patriot Guard cross the viaduct in downtown Havre Monday as they escort the body of U.S. Army Pfc. Lawrence Gordon to the Port of Wild Horse on the Canadian border and on Medicine Hat, Alberta. Pfc. Gordon was killed in France during World War II. A new sign recently placed on U.S. Highway 87 south of Havre points the way to Fort Assinniboine, the historic fort that was in operation in the late 19th and early 20th century. The sign is designed to tell visitors where to go for tours. A large garage and workshop adjacent to the home of Trish and Skip Taylor was gutted by fire on Wednesday afternoon. Two antique cars and three other vehicles were destroyed. Havre, Chinook and Harlem firefighters were on the scene of the blaze, on Highway 2 just east of the Hill-Blaine county line. The workshop was owned by Mike Dolan.
