The Class AA CMR Rustlers are a tough team for anybody to handle, and the Havre High girls basketball team definitely had its hands full. "We were pretty pleased with our kids," Havre High head coach Dustin Kraske said. "CMR is obviously better than us right now at this point in the season where we both are at, but I was pleased...
The Havre High wrestling program had its hands full with two tough programs this weekend. On Friday at the Havre High gymnasium, thesecond-ranked Class A Blue Ponies hosted the top-ranked Class B-C Forsyth Dogies as well as the Conrad Cowboys in a special double dual. And getting the home sweep, the Ponies defeated the Dogies 42-30 and defeated the Cowboys 70-9. "It's great to wrestle these guys, especially since we won't see any of them at state," Havre High head coach Scott Filius said. "There was nothing on the line and...
A big run by the Great Falls High Bison kept the Havre High Blue Ponies at bay. Thursday night in Great Falls, the Class AA Bison defeated the Central A Ponies 69-55 in nonconference play. And that was after overcoming a 14-7 deficit in the first eight minutes. But in the third quarter the Bison gained some separation, coming out of the lockerroom hot. GFH hit some...
Another slow start was the demise for the Havre High girls basketball team. Thursday night at the Havre High gymnasium the Central A Blue Ponies suffered a non-conference loss, falling to the Class AA Great Falls Bison 51-39. With the loss the Ponies remain 2-5 in the conference, but dropped to 3-8 overall. Both wins came at the hands of HHS, one in Great Falls and now one in Havre. "It's not like...
Every Havre High wrestler deserves some recognition for the Blue Ponies' success, but tonight the seniors will get the limelight. Tonight while hosting Class B/C Conrad and Forsyth, the Pony senior grapplers will be recognized. And for all the accomplishments earned over the last four years, the recognition is well deserved. Duell Stadel, Josh Salapich and Jared Ruttkofsky are the three seniors on this years roster. "Duell (Stadel) has been lights out tough since he got here and last year Jared (Ruttkofsky) and Josh...

Tonight at 5 p.m. at the HHS gymnasium the Ponies will host the B-C Conrad Cowboys and Forsyth Dogies. The Class AA CMR Rustlers came to town, but the Havre High Blue Ponies handled their own business. The Central A Ponies hosted the Rustlers Tuesday night at the Havre High gymnasium. And the Ponies came away with the 52-27 victory. But the Ponies' lineup was a little different on Tuesday. HHS remained open at 98 pounds, but to fill the hole at 140, the Ponies had five grapplers move up in weight. Gilbert Bara usually wrestles at 112, but moved up to 119, and Duell Stadel who normally wrestles at 119 moved up to 125. Thomas Gr...

A 30 point first quarter put the Stars way out in front early, and they never looked back ass they added 16 in the second, 17 in the third and 18 in the fourth. Skylar...

And though every team present would have liked to grab the No. 1 spot, the Ponies were satisfied with where they finished up. "After you acknowledge you...
It's hard to find two states that are as diverse and unique as Montana and California. Sure, they aren't too far apart on the map, but besides California being the third largest state and Montana being the fourth largest state, do they really have anything in common? At first glance, the answer is no. With well over 36 million people filling up the state of California, the Golden State is typically well known for Los Angeles, Hollywood movies, warm weather, beaches, shopping and traffic. And an outside look at Montana, with...

With the regular season winding down, every game seems to hold more and more importance. And with five games left on the schedule, three of which that are conference games, the Havre High boys basketball team has the confidence that they can make a run at the No. 1 spot. The Blue Ponies sit in between the Lewistown Golden Eagles and Butte Central Maroons in the No. 3 spot. Havre is 4-3 in the Central A, while the Maroons are 4-2 and Lewistown is 2-2. And if the Ponies want to maintain their positioning as well as keep moving...
