On Sept. 19, a NorthWestern Energy pole carrying a 69-kilovolt line and smaller distribution lines burned just outside the company’s substation in Zurich, between Chinook and Harlem. As a result, our lines were hanging low over U.S. Highway 2 and the BNSF tracks, posing a hazard to highway and railroad users.
