A car crashed Tuesday afternoon through the west wall of Lucky Lil's Casino on First Street and the driver died after being transported to the hospital.
The driver, Wayne Lee Dolphay of Havre, was 64.
Havre Police Chief Gabe Matosich said this morning the cause of the crash and Dolphay's death is being investigated, but there is reason to believe Dolphay had a medical condition that may have played a role in the crash.
Matosich said no one else was hurt in the crash.
Havre Fire Chief Mel Paulson said this morning that the casino will probably not be open today, but that, from the looks of it, the building safety has not been compromised in any way.
Windows were broken out of the building and a portion of the brick wall pushed in. By Tuesday evening, the hole in the wall had been boarded up.
Dolphay was headed eastbound on First Street when his vehicle apparently went off the street and through the grassy field between 4B's and the casino, past the adjacent entrance west of the casino and into the wall.
The car came to a stop after ramming through the brick and glass wall. The steering wheel airbag deployed and the front end was heavily damaged.
