Optimistic GOP opens Havre headquarters

Hill County Republicans geared up for the November election with a grand opening of their new headquarters at 673 1st St., Thursday night.

Republicans dined on hot dogs, hamburgers and a host of desserts donated by GOP volunteers.

The new headquarters replaces the one used by the party during political season for many years. It was taken over by Triangle Communications.

Walls of the facility are filled with posters advocating the candidacy of local candidates - including life-sized portraits of legislative candidates Kris Hansen, Stephanie Hess and Bruce Meyers.

GOP Chair Andrew Brekke said there has been tremendous enthusiasm for the fall effort from the party faithful.

T-shirts touting the candidacies of Hansen for state senate and Hess for state representative are being sold.

"We are going to wear them in the Festival Days parade," Hansen told the crowd.

Hess is sold out, but Hansen said she has some left.
